Derryfield Country Club in Manchester, NH
After the golfers retire their clubs for the season Derryfield Country Club in Manchester is the perfect place to go sledding. The large hill is conveniently located right off Interstate 93 (at 625 Mammoth Road) and has plenty of parking.
Benedictine Park in Bedford, NH
The Benedictine Conservation Land, located on Wallace Road off of Route 101 in Bedford, spans nearly 30 acres and welcomes those looking to cross-country ski, sled and go snowshoeing.
Mack’s Apples in Londonderry, NH
You probably already know that Mack’s Apples is a hugely popular spot for apple and pumpkin picking but did you know that there’s a great sledding hill also located on the property? When you’re done sledding make sure you head inside their year-round store and pick up some apples or freshly pressed cider. Mack’s Apples is located at 230 Mammoth Road in Londonderry.
Hawthorne Town Forest in Hopkinton, NH
Although we're usually only in Hopkinton in the fall to visit Gould Hill Farm for some delicious PYO apples we also love to visit during the winter months for sledding at Hawthorne Town Forest. You can get there by taking Briar Hill Road to Rollins Road and Hawthorne Town Forest will be located on the right. Plenty of parking is available.
Alexander Carr Park in Derry, NH
Alexander Carr Park, next to Parkland Medical Center in Derry, is a great sledding destination for families. This park is especially popular because it has a lodge with concession stand, plenty of tables and chairs, restrooms, as well as a television and board games. The sledding area is lit so if you’ve never tried sledding at nighttime here’s your chance! The Department of Parks and Recreation also rents snowshoes for those looking for an alternative to sledding. More info: derry.nh.us
White Park in Concord, NH
From ice skating to sledding to groomed trails, you can find tons of winter fun at White Park located on White Street in Concord. Make sure you come back in the warmer months too for athletic fields, playground area, outdoor pool and a roller skating rink. More info: concordnh.gov
Bragdon Farm Sledding Hill in Amherst, NH
Sledding as Bragdon Farm has been a tradition for generations and even once operated as a small ski area until the early 1970s. Bragdon Farm is located off of Route 101 and has plenty of parking (parking is actually located across the street but there’s a tunnel that goes under the highway). The hill is located next to LaBelle Winery so make sure you stop in and grab a bottle on your way home.
Roby Park in Nashua, NH
Roby Park in Nashua is also a great year-long destination for families looking for fun. When the softball fields are covered with snow it’s the perfect time to have some fun sledding the steep hill. Roby Park is located on Spit Brook Road and not far off of Exit 1 on the F.E. Everett Turnpike.
Mondanock Region and Western NH
Carnival Hill in Wilton, NH
Carnival Hill is a local and Parenting NH reader favorite spot for sledding if you like a fast, long hill (and, hey, who doesn't?!). This hill isn't super steep but the length makes it fun, especially for teens, tweens and young adults. You can find the hill along Hillside Road in the town of Wilton.
Robin Hood Park in Keene, NH
Robin Hood Park in Keene is a popular destination all year long for the Monadnock Region. During the summer the park has a great swimming pool, tennis courts and playground. During the winter months locals love Robin Hood Park for its skating pond and hills perfect for sledding and snow tubing. The park is located at 366 Reservoir Street off of Roxbury Street.
Morningside Hang Glider Park in Charlestown, NH
This park is mostly known to hang gliders but in the off season this hill is perfect for snow tubing, sledding and snow kiting. The park is located off of Route 12 South (near Newport and Claremont).
Arrowhead Recreation Area in Claremont, NH
You can find a little of every winter passion at the Arrowhead Recreation Area including skiing, snowboarding, tubing and sledding. There is a cost to ski, snowboard and tube here but the prices are VERY reasonable and tubing is only $9 for a whole season's worth of downhill fun. More info: arrowheadnh.com
Garrison Hill Park in Dover, NH
Garrison Hill Park is a 55-acre park in Dover and has both a sledding hill and a ski/snowboard hill. The Park is located on Abbey Sawyer Memorial Parkway near Wentworth Douglas Hospital and has some spectacular views of Dover. Garrison Hill Park is one of the most popular sledding spots in NH.
Wagon Hill Farm in Durham, NH
Wagon Hill Farm is a 12-acre park in Durham that welcomes sledders and snowshoers during the winter months. If you’re looking for a great picnic spot when the snow melts make sure you come back to Wagon Hill Farm. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome.
Midstate and Northern NH
Remich Park in Littleton, NH
Remich Park not only has some great sledding hills but it also is a great spot for snowshoeing and ice skating. The park is located at 165 Pleasant Street. More info: littletonparksandrec.com
Prescott Farm Environmental Education Center in Laconia, NH
Prescott Farm offers a wide variety of fun programs and activities all year long but during the winter months they offer free sledding on Saturdays. Prescott Farm has hot cocoa and snacks available for purchase and also offers daytime and nighttime snowshoe walks (for a fee). More info: http://prescottfarm.org/
Enfield Shaker Village Hill in Enfield, NH
This sledding hill is located by the Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette on Route 4A.
